  • How to Create a New Project?

    When you want a clean project and you are done playing with the current one or want to remove the demo project, you can create a new blank one. Do not worry, you can always reload the demo project.

    To create a new project:

    1. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Delete Trash button button.
    2. In the Delete window that just appeared, click on the New Project New Project button button.
    3. In the New Project dialog box, tap on the Yes button to create a new project. Tap on the Cancel button if you want to continue playing with the current project.

    You now have a blank project.

  • How to Reload the Demo Project?

    You can always reload the demo project included with Flip Boom Lite at any time, even after you create a new project.

    To reload the demo project:

    1. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Settings Settings button button. If your animation is playing, this will stop the playback.
    2. In the Settings window that just appeared, tap on the Reload Demo Project Trash button button.
    3. In the Reload Demo Project dialog box, tap on the Yes button to load the demo project. Tap on the No button if you want to continue playing with the current project. Note that if you tap on the Yes button, your current project will be cleared.

    The Demo project is now loaded.

  • How to Play Back the Animation?

    When you launch Flip Boom Lite for the first time, you will see the Bouncing Ball demo project. This project demonstrates how simple animation can be.

    To play back the animation:

    • At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Play Play button button. The animation will play in loop until you stop it using the Stop Stop button button.

    You can playback all your animations the same way as you played back the demo project.

  • How to Stop the Animation Playback?

    When you play back an animation, it will play in loop until you stop it.

    To stop the animation playback:

    • When your animation is playing, the Play Play button button becomes a Stop Stop button button. Tap on the Stop Stop button button to stop the playback.
  • How to Change the Playback Speed?

    You can play your animation faster or slower depending on how fast you want it to go.

    To change the playback speed:

    1. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Settings Settings button button. If your animation is playing, this will stop the playback.
    2. In the Settings window that just appeared, using your finger, move the Speed slideer toward the Turtle Turtle icon icon (left) to slow the playback down or toward the Rabbit Rabbit icon icon to speed up the playback speed (right)
    3. Tap outside the Settings window to close it.
    4. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Play Play button button.
  • How to Add a New Page?

    To animate an object, you need to draw it in slightly different positions over several pages. Once you have done your first drawing, such as a ball, you need to add a new page and draw a new ball in a different location. This gives the illusion of movement when playing back all the pages.

    To add a new page:

    1. Draw something on the canvas such as a ball on the ground.
    2. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Next Page Next Page button button. If you are at the end of your animation, a new page is automatically added and you can create your new drawing.
    3. By default, the Show Previous and Next Page option is enabled. If this is not the case, you need to see Show Previous and Next Page.
    4. On the canvas, draw your second object, such as a ball in a slightly different position. If you make the ball higher on the canvas, it will give the illusion of going up.
  • How to Go to Your Previous and Next Pages?

    You may want to go back to drawings you previously drew to modify them. To do so you can use the Previous Page and Next Page Next Page button buttons.

    To go to the previous and next pages:

    1. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Previons Page Previous Page button button to go back to the previous page. If you tap on it repeatedly, you will continue going to the previous pages.
    2. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Next Page Next Page button button to go to the next page. If you tap on it repeatedly, you will continue going to the next pages. If there are no more pages, it will automatically add a new empty page.
  • How to See Your Previous and Next Pages?

    When you animate an object that moves over time, it is always very handy to see the previous and next drawing you did to make sure the position is good.

    To see your previous and next pages:

    1. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Settings Settings button button.
    2. In the Settings window that just appeared, tap on the Previons and Next Pages Previous and Next Pages button button to enable or disable the option.
    3. Tap outside the Settings window to close it.
  • How to Navigate in the Page View?

    The Page view allows you to see all of the drawings and pages in your animation. You can easily navigate through them using your fingers.

    To navigate in the Page view:

    1. Slide your finger left or right to pan the Page view. If you have several pages, you can swing your finger across the page view and it will make it pan faster.
    2. To select a page, just tap on it once.
  • How to Add a Page in the Page View?

    You can add new pages in the Page view simply by tapping on the darker pages. A new page will automatically be added at the end of your animation.

  • How to Delete a Page?

    If you have too many blank pages or if you want to delete drawing as well as its page, you can use the Delete Page Delete Page option option.

    To delete a page:

    1. In the Page view, tap on the page to delete to select it.
    2. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Delete Trash button button.
    3. In the Delete window that just appeared, click on the Delete Page button. Your page is now removed from your project.
    4. If you tap repeatedly on the Delete Page button, the next selected pages will be deleted.
    5. Tap outside the Delete window to close it.
  • How to Draw with the Brush Tool?

    Flip Boom Lite lets you create your own animation! Make sure to create a new project and get started!

    To draw with the Brush tool:

    1. By default, Flip Boom Lite is set to use the Brush Brush tool tool. There is no need to do anything unless it is set to use the Eraser Eraser tool tool. If it is the case, you have to see how to switch between the Brush Brush tool tool and the Eraser Eraser tool tool.
    2. To draw, you simply need to drag your finger on the iPad screen over the white canvas. By doing so, you can draw whatever you like!
  • How to Change the Brush Tool Colour?

    With Flip Boom Lite, you can draw with a series of different colours. By default, Flip Boom Lite is set to use black, but you can change the colour at anytime.

    To change the Brush tool colour:

    1. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Colour Palette Colour Palette button button.
    2. In the Colour Palette window that just appeared, tap on the colour you want to use.
    3. Tap outside the Colour Palette window to close it.
    4. Now you can continue drawing with your new colour.
  • How to Delete Your Last Drawing Stroke (Undo)?

    When you draw you may want to quickly delete the last line you drew without using the Eraser Eraser tool tool. You can do so by clicking on the Undo Stroke Undo Stroke button button. You can also simply shake your iPad!

    To delete your last drawing stroke:

    1. At the top left corner of the interface, tap on the Undo Stroke Undo Stroke button button.
    2. The last stroke which you drew is removed.
    3. If you tap on the button repeatedly, your strokes will be progressively removed until the page is cleared. Note that this will only affect the current drawing and will not delete lines from your other drawings. You can use the Undo Stroke Undo Stroke button button on any of your drawings at any time.
  • How to Clear a Page?

    If you would like to clear everything that is on your page without having to erase everything using the Eraser Eraser tool tool, you can do so using the Delete Drawing Delete Drawing option option.

    To clear a page:

    1. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Delete Trash button button.
    2. In the Delete window that just appeared, click on the Delete Drawing Delete Drawing option button.

    Your page is now cleared of any strokes, but your page is not deleted.

  • How to Switch Between the Brush and the Eraser tools?

    Flip Boom Lite has two tools that you can use; the Brush Brush tool tool and the Eraser tool. Only one tool is active at a time, to use one or the other, you need to switch between them.

    To switch between the Brush and the Eraser tool:

    1. At the bottom of the interface, tap either on the Brush Brush tool tool or Eraser Eraser tool tool depending on which one is displayed.
    2. In the Tools window that just appeared, tap either on the Brush Brush tool tool or Eraser Eraser tool tool depending on which one you want to use. The Tools window will close automatically.
    3. Continue drawing or erasing on the canvas.
  • How to Erase with the Eraser Tool?

    You can erase any bits and pieces which you do not want in your drawing.

    To erase using the Eraser tool:

    1. By default, Flip Boom Lite is set to use the Brush Brush tool tool. If this is the case, you have to see how to switch between the Brush Brush tool tool and the Eraser Eraser tool tool.
    2. To erase, you simply need to drag your finger on the iPad screen over the white canvas. By doing so, you will erase the part of the lines you touch.
  • How to Change the Brush and Eraser Size?

    Flip Boom Lite gives you the possibility to change the size of your Brush Brush tool tool and Eraser Eraser tool tool.

    To change the tool size:

    1. At the bottom of the interface, tap on either the Brush tool or the Eraser Eraser tool tool, depending on which one is displayed.
    2. In the Tools window that just appeared, using your finger, move the Tool Size slider toward the Small Dot Small Dot icon icon (left) to make the tool size smaller or toward the Big Dot Big Dot icon icon to make the tool size bigger (right).
    3. The window closes automatically once you release the slider.
    4. Continue drawing or erasing as you were doing.
  • How to Zoom In and Zoom Out?

    You can enlarge your drawing to see better while working on it by using your thumb and index finger.

    To zoom in and out of your drawing:

    1. To zoom into your drawing, place your index and thumb finger on the screen.
    2. Move your index and thumb apart to zoom in.
    3. Move your index and thumb closer together to zoom out.
  • How to Reset the Canvas Position?

    After zooming in and panning your drawings around, you might want to reset the canvas to its original position. The only thing you need to do is to tap or your screen with three fingers. The canvas will reset itself automatically.

  • How to Pan in the Canvas?

    You can move your drawing around to see better while working on it using your index and middle fingers.

    To pan in the Canvas:

    1. To pan in the canvas, place your index and middle fingers on the screen.
    2. Drag your two fingers on the canvas to move your drawing around.
  • How to Know Which Page You Are On?

    While you add new drawings to animate your objects, you may end up with a lot of pages. The Page Indicator display always tells you which page you are on and how many pages you have on your animation.

    You can find the Page Indicator at the bottom centre of the interface.

  • How to Show and Hide the Page View?

    To understand better what your animation looks like, you can display the Page view which shows you all your pages from left to right. This way you can quickly scroll through animation, select a page, add a new page and see a series of thumbnails of all your drawings.

    To show and hide the Page view:

    • At the bottom center of the interface, tap on the Page View page view button to either show or hide the Page view.
  • How to Rotate the Interface?

    If you prefer to work either on a vertical or horizontal layout, iPad lets you rotate the interface. You simply need to rotate your iPad vertically or horizontally. The Flip Boom Lite interface will automatically rotate.

  • How to Go Back to Your First Page?

    If you want to go back to the first drawing of your animation, you simply have to tap on the Go Back to First Page First Page button button.

    To go back to your first page:

    • At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Go Back to First Page First Page button button.
  • How to Show and Hide the Settings?

    Flip Boom Lite lets you adjust several settings and do different actions. In the Settings window you can do the following:

    • Adjust the playback speed
    • Show and hide the previous and next pages
    • Reload the demo project
    • Take a snapshot
    • Go to the Flip Boom Lite web page

    To open the Settings view:

    1. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Settings Settings button button.
    2. In the Settings window that just appeared, tap on the desired button.
    3. Tap outside the Settings window to close it.
  • How to go to the Flip Boom Lite Web Page?

    To go to the Flip Boom Lite web page:

    1. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Settings Settings button button.
    2. In the Settings window that just appeared, tap on the Flip Boom Lite Web Page iPad web page button button. The web browser automatically opens.
    3. Once you are finished browsing, click on the iPad Home iPad Home button button to go back to your iPad Home screen.
    4. On your Home screen, tap on the Flip Boom Lite Flip Boom Lite icon icon to go to back to Flip Boom Lite.
  • How to Take a Snapshot of Your Page?

    If you like the drawing you did, you can easily take a snap shot and add it to your iPad Photos bank.

    To take a snapshot of your page:

    1. In the Page view, tap on the page you want to take a snapshot of. This will select it.
    2. At the bottom of the interface, tap on the Settings Settings button button.
    3. In the Settings window that just appeared, tap on the Snapshot button.
    4. Tap outside the Settings window to close it.
    5. Click on the iPad Home iPad Home button button to go back to your iPad Home screen.
    6. On your Home screen, tap on the Photos icon to open your photo library.
    7. Click on the Photos button to see your snap shots.
